Tom Hayden, CEO at the Good Shepherd, has written the following message for Christmas.
*
Christmas is such an important time at the Good Shepherd and as we reflect on 2021 I’m really proud of the charity and the work we’ve done this year.
We supported over a thousand people, and by the time the year comes to an end we will have provided over 35,000 hot meals and food parcels, diverted over 40 tonnes of food waste from landfill to people that need it, and supported nearly 100 families.
In the last financial year we housed over 50 people from homelessness including 27 people through the Housing First project and we continue to support them in their homes as they carry on their recovery journeys.
We can only achieve this with the support from our partners, supporters, donors, and volunteers.
This year the community in Wolverhampton has continued to support our work and has helped us stay open for the people that need us the most.
On behalf of the Good Shepherd, the Brothers, and our team, a huge thank you to everyone that has donated, volunteered their time, fundraised, shared our social media posts, or supported our work in any way.
I wish you all a happy Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.
Best wishes
Tom
